Okay, where we're going to continue, where we start it next week if I don't get sidetracked again, so take your Bibles if you will, if you have your Bibles this morning and I hope you do, and turn over to the Book of Revelation chapter 1 and we're going to begin there. We're going to cover a lot of territory, hopefully. Now we're going to take a look at something called the Seven Spirits that we began on last week. It must be important because it's in the Bible. So we're going to give you a lot of verses, so play attention if you will. John chapter 1 verse or Revelation chapter 1 verse 4. I'm going to read a few verses to you. Never going to try to sum everything up before we're all over all done if I can. Verse 4, Revelation chapter 1, John to the seven churches which are in Asia. Grace be unto you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come and from the seven spirits who are before His throne. Notice something, if you will, to the seven churches, grace and peace, not only from Jesus Christ but also from the seven spirits who are before His throne. Turn over if you will, the Revelation 3 verse 1. What are the seven spirits. Where are the seven spirits? Well, the answer is very simple as we'll see. Chapter 3 verse 1. And unto the angel of the church and sardis, write these things, say it he, that hath the seven spirits. Who is that? Jesus Christ. That hath the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know thy works, that thou has a name, that thou live us in art dead. And we're going to get back to the seven spirits in chapter 4. However, in the meantime, go, if you will, go if you will, to Isaiah chapter 11, and then we're going to come back. Isaiah chapter 11, if you will. So the seven spirits are before the throne, and Jesus Christ has the seven spirits, and then we're going to look one more time what the seven spirits are. Are they literal entities? Isaiah chapter 11 verse 1 there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse and a branch up row out of his roots. His name is Jesus Christ. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him. Notice if you will, the Holy Spirit shall rest upon him. And when the Holy Spirit rests upon him or anyone else notice the seven spirits. These seven spirits come with the Holy Spirit. They are part of his identity. They're part of the way the Holy Spirit thinks. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom. That's number one. Understanding that's number two. the spirit of counsel that's number three and might that's number four the spirit of knowledge that's number five the fear of the Lord that's number six and shall make him up quick understanding in the fear of the Lord and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes neither shall we prove after the hearing of his ears, but with righteousness shall he judge the poor that's number seven. So we have seven spirits that come from the Holy Spirit to seven spirits, our seven types of wisdom, understanding. First four, one more time, but with righteousness shall he judge the poor and reprove with equity. For the meek of the earth and he shall smite the earth with the rot of his mouth and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked and righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins and faithfulness the girdle of his waist. Your Bible may say rains the literal word is waste. Now we're going to come back here shortly. In the meantime I want you to go if you will to 2nd Corinthians chapter 1st Corinthians, rather, chapter 2. And we're going to come back, if you will. First Corinthians chapter 2. Notice the seven spirits that are before the throne, that are in Christ, but there's more to it than that, if you will. First Corinthians chapter 2, let's see, let's go to verse 5, that your faiths, that you should not stand in wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Let's go back up to verse 4 here, if you will, we need to cover that. And in my speech, Paul said, and my preaching, we're not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the spirit and power. Now, we're going to come right back here. I know we're covering a lot of territory, but go, if you will, to the Gospel of John chapter 7, hold your place here, and we will come right back. Okay? If you don't get all this, and take some notes and go home and read it. Wouldn't hurt. In John chapter 7, verse 24, Jesus Christ said, Judge not according to the appearance, but Judge righteous judgment. How do you do that? How do you do that? You know how many people judge according to appearance? But if you're not doing this, you're not saved. If you're not doing this, you're not saved. If you're not doing that you, they judge according to the appearance. Jesus Christ said don't do that. Judge according to righteous judgment. If you just remember we read in Isaiah chapter 11, what one of the spirits of the Lord is, one of the seven spirits, judge according to righteous judgment. The Lord Jesus Christ always does and so should you. Verse 37. In the last day that great of the day of the feast Jesus stood and cried out saying, give any man thirst let him come unto me and drink. He that believed on me as the Scripture had said, out of his heart out of his belly his heart shall flow rivers of living water. But this spoke key of the Holy Spirit whom they that believe on him should receive, for the Holy Spirit the The Holy Ghost was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified. Let's read that verse one more time. Out of your heart, we'll show, we'll flow living waters because of the Holy Spirit that you have received. Do you understand that? Now, go back to 1 Corinthians chapter 2. When you put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you believe He died on the cross for you. You have 100% forgiveness of sin, but you were also given something called the Holy Spirit He dwells with you and in you, you don't glow like a light bulb. Nobody will probably know that he's in there, but he does, and if you got any brains at all, you will. The Holy Spirit, when you put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ dwells with you and in you. And this is some of the things that the Holy Spirit does. Go back to 1 Corinthians chapter 2. First of all, you have the demonstration of the Spirit and the power of the Holy Spirit. Number five, verse five, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Remember one of the words we reddened Isaiah, one of the seven spirits is wisdom, you have wisdom. You ever watch an old television, some of the things on TV, and some of the things they say you just can't understand. You go, how in the world can anybody think like that? Do you know why you have that attitude because you have the Holy Spirit? You see, the Holy Spirit gives you the opportunity or the ability rather to discern between right and wrong, good and evil that's the Spirit of Christ, the thinking of Christ and the thinking of the Antichrist. You have that ability. It all comes from the seven spirits of God who you have access to through the Holy Spirit. You see, back here, if you will, back to the Bible. going down in verse, well let's skip some verses, we don't have all day. Verse 10. No, verse 9. But as it is written, I have not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God had prepared for them, they'd love him. But now if you stop there you'll say, well you see there's a lot I don't know because it hasn't entered into my heart or I haven't heard it, but notice the next verse, but it's a great big word, but God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth all things, ye the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the Spirit of man, which is in him. In other words, if you're lost without price, you have the Spirit of man, which That's why we have our prayer service, by the way, we pray for the government and we pray for this in the United States. Because we understand what's going on in the world. But even so, the things of God know what the no man but the Spirit of God. In other words, the world will never understand Jesus Christ across God the Father. The world will never understand it. But if you're put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have the Holy Spirit. You can understand all things, all things, but you need to remember something. At the top and the bottom is the word righteousness. Judge according to righteousness. Let me ask you a question. How do you determine if a person is saved or lost? You don't judge him according to how they look, how they act, the way they talk, the words they use, their lifestyle, whether they go to church on Sunday, you judge according to righteous judgment, you ask him, are you going to heaven when you die? Do you know if you're going to, do you want to know if you're going to heaven when you die? I was talking to a fellow just the other day I talked to him two or three times, but he He just won't accept the fact, what he knows it, he just won't accept it. He said, I've been good, I've tried to live a good life, I said that won't work. The Bible says there's none good, no not one, so you're not good, I'm not good either. He said, well, I know that, and I said the only way you can be good is to put your faith in Christ. He paid it, he died for your sins, he paid for all your sins, the only way you can be good enough to go to heaven is to put your faith in Christ, he just won't do it. I don't know what his problem is, but you know what? it's his problem, not mine, I'm told him. Verse 12. Now we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is of God that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God, which things also we speak not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual, but the natural man receive with not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him. You know, we live in a pretty foolish world, don't we? You're talking to a natural man, an unsafe person. They might be nice, they might be sweet, they might be good people. But when it comes to the truth, they're just plain foolish. So you have the Holy Spirit, you have all these things available. You have the availability of the seven spirits of God because you have the Holy Spirit, the same Holy Spirit which is God, you have all these things, back to Revelation if you will. Time we've got here. I might have time to cover that. Go to chapter 4, Revelation chapter 4. If the seven spirits were an important, they wouldn't be mentioned so many times in the Bible. They are important. Revelation chapter 4. So let's lay the foundation here for what's taking place in Revelation chapter 4. So please try to understand this in Revelation chapter 4. We have a picture of the rapture of the church. The church is in heaven. Just taken into heaven, look in verse 1. Verse 1 after this I looked and behold a door was open in heaven and the first voice that I heard was that we're a trumpet. with me would say come up here, that's a perfect picture of the rapture of the church. You know what you're going to hear when the rapture takes place, if you're still alive on this earth, the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ, as it were a trumpet saying, come up here. It won't that be great? Today would be fine, yeah, if it doesn't happen then tomorrow be fine. But you're going to hear the voice of the Lord Jesus Christ and he's going to say, come up here, and immediately you'll be in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 2, immediately I was in the Spirit and behold a throne was said in heaven and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was looked upon like a Jasper in Sardisstone and there was rainbow round about the throne in sight like an emerald. Well who's that by the way? He's his crew. Has to be Jesus Christ. And then a verse 4, round about the throne were 4 and 20 thrones or seats, set upon a seat, thrones, set four and twenty elders, clothed in white raiment, a perfect picture of the church. That's what the elders represent. Verse 5, And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunder, claps, thunder, thunderings, and voices, and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. What in the world is that me? Seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. What in the world? I thought the seven spirits were entrested. I thought they were before the throne in chapter 1, but now it says they are seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. Remember the seven spirits we've read in Isaiah chapter 11. Remember what they are. the last one. They are all summed up in the word righteousness. Now look here again with pay attention. I want you to understand this because it's here for a reason and you need to understand it. The seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God, go back to chapter 1, Revelation here, if you will, back to chapter 1, in verse 12 and I turn to see the voice that spoke with me and being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks lamp stands now going down if you will let's see here to verse 20 first of all he saw seven candlesticks and John saw seven stars verse 20 if you will the mystery of the seven stars which I saw in my right hand in the seven golden candlesticks, lampstands. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks which thou sawst or lampstands are the seven churches. Did you get that now? You understand that? Okay, back to chapter four. Remember something. In chapter two and three we We have the seven churches which represent the entire church of the Lord Jesus Christ. They represent seven literal churches. They represent seven types of churches that we have today. And they represent seven periods of church history. They are the church. The candlesticks. Jesus Christ said he was in the midst of the candlesticks. Verse 5, 1 more time. out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderclaps, thunders, and voices and there were seven lamps of fire. These are the churches. This represents the church. Burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God. Let me ask you something. Why would we see the lamps of fire burning before the throne? Isn't that strange? Are the churches burning before the throne? No, we're going to answer that question, go if you will, 1st Corinthians chapter 3, and 1st Corinthians chapter 3. When the church is taken into heaven, every Christian will stand before something which is called the Judgment Seat of Christ. Let me read that to you in Romans chapter 14. But why does thou judge thy brother, or why does thou set it not for we? That's the church. You and I. shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written as I live saith the Lord every knee shall bow to me and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us Christians church shall give a count of himself to God. Now back to 1 Corinthians chapter 3, verse 12, if any man built upon this foundation that's after you're saved the foundation of course is Jesus Christ. If any man built upon this foundation, gold silver, precious stones would haste double every man's work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare it because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he has built upon it, he shall receive a reward. If any If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss. But he himself shall be saved yet as by fire. Know you not that you are the temple of God and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you. If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy for the temple of God as holy which temple you are. Notice some words in verse 10. If any man's work shall be burned, that's your bad works. shall suffer loss. But he himself shall be saved yet as by fire. Now go back to Revelation chapter 4 if you will. In chapter 4 verse 5, one more time. And out of the throne, proceeded lightnings and thunder claps and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire. The seven lamps represent the church. And the fire, I believe, represents the loss of every Christian and the bad works, the wood, the hay, and the stubble. The seven spirits of God, the seven spirits of God see everything. They know everything, but the seven spirits of God do not judge according to what they see, and what they hear, they judge according to righteousness. Now go over to chapter 5, if you will. See how much time we got a couple of minutes yet. Chapter 5 and verse 6. Remember now this is a picture of the church standing before the judgment seat of Christ. Your bad works are being burned yet. In verse 4 you see that they have white raiment and crowns of gold. Make one thing perfectly clear. When you get into heaven you will not regret one single loss. You will rejoice in the fact that you're there, you have white Raymond, and you have your crowns of gold. Every Christian, I don't care who it is, even poor Benny Han, we were talking about him this morning. I don't think he's a Christian in the first place. I think I'll forget Benny Han, but I do want to be one of his jackets. I still want one of your good characters. Somebody told me this morning that poor Benny has got in trouble. He had an affair with the lady evangelist. I can't believe they do that. Those sweet people. But anyway, and whoever, the person I was talking to this morning said, Benny might have to sell some of his jackets to pay for an attorney. So keep your eyes open. I won't want to visit you. Those are nice. I don't want to be any in jacket. Chapter 5, verse 6. We already saw a picture of the church. bad works are being burned, but they are still called the seven lamps, the seven churches. But look in verse 6 and be held and low, I beheld that, and low in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, creatures. And in the midst of the elders, elders, elders stood a land. That's Christ, as though it had been slain having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth and do all the earth. We'll probably pick this up again next week but you know what this is a picture of? Any ideas? Well, it's a picture of the seven-year tribulation and God's judgment upon the earth. The seven spirits and our seven eyes and seven horns will pick out up again maybe next week, maybe not, but this is another aspect of the seven spirits of God and how they work. Now if you will. Let's turn all the way back to Isaiah one more time. I hope I made all this clear. I did the best I could. Isaiah what day? Isaiah chapter 11. I'm going to boil all this down hopefully. Isaiah chapter 11 is a picture of the Kingdom of God. It's a picture of the Kingdom of God. During the Kingdom of God we will have the Spirit of the Lord, verse two, shall rest upon him, that's Christ, the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, fear, and righteousness, which spirits, the seven spirits, you have access to. The Holy Spirit has given you wisdom. Use it. Understanding. Use it. He's given you the ability to counsel. Do you know how many people you run across who need counseling, use it. He's giving you the spirit of might, strength, power, use it, knowledge, use it. Don't use the old excuse, by the way, oh, I'm not smart enough. Well, that's a cop out. Knowledge. And the fear of the Lord, you know what? Use it. You should fear the Lord. I don't mean you walk around. Brady's going to slap you on the head with something. not what it means. And he's also given you the spirit of righteousness. So judge righteously. I can give you all kinds of examples of self-righteous Christians who judge unrighteously. I don't like that. All that says is they're self-righteous. But with righteousness shall he judge the poor. How's he going to judge you when you get into heaven with righteousness. He's not going to judge you according to what he saw and what you did although you're going to lose rewards but he will judge you according to righteousness because when you put your faith in Jesus Christ he gives you his righteousness. You will always have a home in heaven. You will always have some kind of a crown, some kind of a reward always but he will judge Christ just leave. And in chapter 11 verse 11 then we'll close with this. How do we know this is this verses have to do with the kingdom of God? How do we know that? Although they fit today, do they not remember? When you read the Bible, there's the primary interpretation. You got that? The practical application. How do I apply it to my life? And the prophetic implication. All three go together. verse 11 and it shall come to pass in that day what day we've talked about this a hundred times what is that day the seven-year tribulation and it includes the kingdom by the way that that day takes in one thousand and seven years and it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, Israel. When was the first time when he came and was nailed to the cross, they rejected him. Some days he going to come back the second time, one-third of Israel. In the meantime, if you're a child of God, which you probably are, just remember this. Everything that Jesus Christ has is available to you. If he has the seven spirits, they see things, they hear things, then you have the availability to the seven spirits. Because all seven spirits come from the Holy Spirit, which you have. Do you not? That's what my Bible says. You see, Christ has the Holy Spirits, they see and they hear and they judge and you have the same ability. We'll pick this up again. I don't know maybe next week, maybe not. Depends on how things go. But I hope you have an understanding of the seven spirits and closing. Look up here if you will. This hand represents me. This represents my sense. I showed this to a fellow the other day, he rejected it. It's his problem, not mine. Now I can go to hell and pay for my own sin. The Bible says I can do that, doesn't it? Romans 6.23 for the wages of sin is death, but that verse also said, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Christ died on the cross, was buried and rose again. What does the Bible say for the forgiveness of sin? What do I have to do, believe it? All I have to do is believe. Christ died on the cross, paid for my sin. He takes my puts it to his account, marks it paid, and guess what else happens? He gives me the Holy Spirit. He gives me the Holy Spirit, or you can do nothing, but hell is a hot place, isn't it? Let's have word of prayer, and we will close this morning. If you're here this morning, you don't know you're going to have them when you die just before we close, say, just bring you in the Lord. You don't have to say it out loud, just between you and the Lord say, Lord, I believe you died on the cross for my sins. Thank you so much. And yes, what? When you make that simple decision, your sins are paid for all eternity. You have a home in heaven and you have the availability of everything Jesus Christ has to offer which includes the seven spirits of God. There before the throne because he's there. are in the churches because he's there. They are in the world because he's there. Put your faith in Christ, receive complete forgiveness, and then you'll have complete understanding and why the world is the way it is today. And dear Lord we thank You for it in Christ's name. Amen.
